So another year comes to a close and a bit of a cold close at that too. It has been a great year for Band Of The Month's in 2010 and our last band of the year, The Volitains, finish the year off in the same vein.

The Volitains have been impressing the music public of London for just over a year with their style and attitude. Expect a lot more from these guys in 2011.

Guitarist Nick D'Amico kindly answers our questions:

Bio:
We all met about 2 years ago. Dave and I met Candice on an underground station and saved her from falling in front of an oncoming train. James, we met whilst partying at the rehearsal studio. We've played a lot of gigs around London for a year and half having worked out our direction. Since then we've released two singles, debut 'Underground' and 'Lovely Bones,' in the past year - the last one was produced by Robert Harder (Babyshambles, David Byrne, Soho Dolls amongst others).

Members:
Candice
Jim
Dave
Nick

Influences:
Jefferson Airplane
The Stooges
Patti Smith
Nirvana
Smashing Pumpkins

Sounds Like:
'Getting fucked sideways with a kitten dipped in acid' to quote one of the members of the press who covered our debut single

Current Release and where its available:
Is a double A side, its called 'Lovely Bones' / 'Joy' and is available on iTunes, Amazon and some other places. We'll be pressing limited vinyl in the new year, as well.

Up and coming artists you recommend:
Bo Ningen
Cold in Berlin
Johnny and the Medicine Show
Call Me Animal

Anna Calvi

Future plans:
Keep writing, performing, write an album, tour the world

Tour Dates:
2nd December, The Victoria in Dalston
18th December, a secret party
12th Jan, Nambucca in London

We'll be taking time to write and record an album after this.

If you were PM for the day what would you do:
Lie our arses off to get into number 10 in the first place, fuck our secretary, buy shares in arms companies, start a war, write a book, get shot...that's how it goes isn't it?
