Bio | Born in the late 60's, Paul hails from a Welsh mining village with a long name (lots of LL's etc). He got into rock in about 1980, thanks to a TISWAS related incident and thankfully has never looked back. It was either this, or he would have been lost to Disco!
Paul often sang solo in the school choir, but thanks to a puberty related incident his voice is bolloxed, although in his own head Paul thinks he sounds like a blend of David Coverdale and Paul Rodgers, and Ronnie Dio (R.I.P). He was brought up on the classics - Deep Purple, Rainbow, Thin Lizzy, Rush, and loved (occasionally still does) melodic rock (Journey, Giant, FM, Romeos Daughter) and the Hair Bands of the 80's (Dokken, Ratt, Cinderella, Stryper, etc). Nowadays, he has progressed a little and prefers a more technical metal - Dream Theater, Rush, Symphony X, Kamelot, Spocks Beard. He hates Black and Death Metal (cant stand the grunting)but for some unknown reason loves the magnificent Opeth He would like nothing better than his son Harry becoming the next George Lynch / Steve Vai / Ritchie Blackmore / Neal Schon as Paul's paid four fifths of bugger all into a pension scheme Paul also likes to add that we will not stop plugging his beloved FM until they secure a headline gig at the NEC, Wembley, etc. Then he considers his work well and truly done! |
