This Is Exploding

Oh dear, this band want to be a new Nirvana, a Nirvana for the Warped Tour generation.

It's a bad idea, and don't get me wrong, they have enthusiasm you can hear it, probably a really interesting live show to watch. You can tell they're good musicians, its just such a shame they have to try and play a type of music they're clearly not capable of playing. It's just noise, the lyrics are dull, the singers voice is not distinctive, there is nothing about this band that defines them from any other garage rock band. Throughout the record I kept waiting for a sign that they'd redeem themselves, perhaps a gimmick, a guest vocalist, something, anything that would make me not want to just press stop. Think of a cross between Nickleback and Creed and something else bad, if you like that, then well be my guest to love this band, but if you have ears, and some sense stay well away.

The only songs on this CD that have any redeeming quality are "Stop" and "Mourning", and only because they remind me I haven't listened to my Nirvana box set in a while, in fact that's what I'm off to do now. Save yourself the pain; don't buy this CD, it won't cause your cd player to explode, more likely collapse.
