Avosetta - Of Our Lives
Norwich quintet Avosetta is about to release their awaited new release ‘Of Our Lives’ and delves into pushing the boundaries of the alternative/post-hardcore scene. There may be four tracks on the release but this is more than sufficient to take you on a 15-minute glimpse into the world of Avosetta.
The opening title track on this record will take you back to the first time Fightstar left its mark on you. It bulges with an alternative sound and from here on the band will deliver some intensely progressive music, combining demanding and quite authoritative guitars riffs with towering harmonies, heated screams and vocals from Sam that penetrate the melodies with power. The concluding number however, is one that differs slightly to its predecessors. Among the heavy guitar riffs on ‘Warship Lanterns’ there are more focused musical demonstrations of talented guitar playing, the harmonies are much more connected blending screams and precision singing remarkably and the opening has a mellower and more tranquil touch to it. Of course however, it develops into something tougher.
After plunging into these four tracks, you cannot help but want to hear more from the Norwich five piece and soon!
