A promising debut

Italian alternative rock quartet Way Pristine wowed us all with their single ‘Inverted Converted’ earlier in the year. Now they are showing off their musical talents with their debut full-length album of the same name.

The fast moving band has an incredible mix of melodic rock on their hands, something of their own style, laden with hooks, strong guitars, a mysterious ambiance and passionate vocals. Among the stronger, heavier and more upbeat natured tracks are those with slower tones and melodies. These ones make for some of the albums most memorable creations for their musical elements, on tracks such as ‘The Kid on the Car’ but also their vocals. There is such strength and talent put across as the vocalist sings, with the vocal overlaps becoming intriguing and enjoyable rather than confusing. The effect created by the two overlapping and parallel vocals is remarkable.

There are tracks packed with beautiful ambiances, melancholy as well as passion, a song for all emotions. The concluding track ‘Last Poem’ in particular, is mixed with strings and piano and creates something wonderfully different.

Way Pristine has a promising start with this debut album and we can’t wait to see what the future holds.
