Black Concept Album? Suprised?

Say "Concept Album" to any black metal fan, and he'll sigh, say "I don't like wizards or dragons" and wander off. Aside from progressive efforts like Scenes From A Memory or The Human Equation, every single concept album is about a Viking who's lost his helmet and has to slay the dragon and other Norse claptrap. Whilst in moderation it's a great laugh, something had to be done.

Thank Satan's dark side for Desecration! Without mentioning arcane magic or wolves once, these Welsh prodigies tell a horrendous story in a terrific way. Any story about human decay is going to pass by your cheesy Manowar fans, and land a solid slot on the CD racks of Mayhem fans everywhere. For those of you who pay attention to the news, remember that band who's debut "Gore & Perversion" was slated in the UK press for being to explicit? Yeah, they're back again.

It would seem Desecration haven't learned their lesson and converted to Christianity just yet, "Process of Decay" is as far away from The Good Book as you can possibly get, and you wouldn't want it any other way. "Initial Decay" and "Black Putrefaction" are a good reason to assume God doesn't exist, and "Dry Rot" is an opus in it's own right.

Process of Decay spits blood all over this current influx of "black" "metal" - Danni Filth is going to sit down and take notes when Mick Hourihan's drumming forces the popgoth idiot to reconsider. Desecration have vaulted themselves from being a "Really Sick" band into being a "Really Really Good Sick Band". It's time put whatever you're listening to away, and be won over by Desecration.
