Feeling Giddy
London four piece, Rubicks, release their first single off their forthcoming second LP and on this evidence, the album looks like it will be pretty good. Filled with Electronica meets Alternative goodness, ‘Giddy Up’ is already getting plenty of play in this corner of R13 Towers.
The sultry vocals of Vanessa Anne Redd are just far too pleasing on the ear and with the beat that just makes you want to get up and dance like a loon; it basically makes for a perfect tune. The lyrics feel as with one with the music, innuendos are flying around all over the place.
‘Giddy Up’ has a feel of Garbage, the band not what you find in the trash, about it. Building all the time the song continues, finishing with full synthesiser effects, with the drum and bass constantly pounding away and then suddenly leaving you unexpectedly at the end. Only thing to do is press play and enjoy it all over again.
