Pleasant enough

From the opening moments of 'Mrs Radbone' with its sweet vocals, which are supported by cheerful beats, The Megadudes show they can pen a neat little poppy rock and roll tune; one that harks back to the lyric led songs of the past.

Part way through they pause the music, leaving unsupported vocals to let the lyrics become clear and with this The Megadudes show there's not a lot to the story. They run through repeating phrases of the song and bring us to a place where it's obvious the point of the tale is to say... "Love you Mrs Radbone cause you're Kyles mum". And that's about all there is to it.

It is a pleasant enough little song, nothing earthshatteringly new, the whole thing sounding vaguely familiar. The melodies are lighthearted and cheeky while remaining inoffensive but ultimately, with 'Mrs Radbone', The Megadudes have produced an uninspiring and forgettable track.
