Ambitionless office disco

Self-described as "ambitionless office disco", 'Microlite' is the debut single from Oxford trio, Trophy Wife. About an everlasting journey, this track is sparse and lean in its rhythms and vocals. With a throwback reference to the 80s in its light electronica beats and overall relaxed vision this is an iceberg of a track; it's all not being said, just lying beneath the surface. Throughout the song not a note is wasted or feels extraneous. Singer Jody Prewett is vocally fragile and truly restrained elements which are easily matched by the instrumentals. Essentially what has been created is a song that sits well alongside chilled acts like Sigur Ros but also will appeal to a variety of audiences. Having been championed by Zane Lowe on his Radio 1 show and most recently supporting Foals on their UK tour this is an act with great potential and as a debut single this is mature and well rounded.
