Second time around...

We first got a taste for Essex born four-piece Johnny Get The Gun back in July when they released their debut self titled EP. After much hard work and the record receiving much appreciation, they start the New Year with a new release, 'Never Far From What new Know'.

On this five track EP the band captivate a listener with their developing Brit indie/rock sound, taking what they had previously released and developing on from this wonderfully. 'Good as it Gets' is the rocking introduction to the new Ep with its energetic impulses. This is followed by 'Hills & Knives', a rather lyrically as well as musically enjoyable song that grows on you the more you listen to it; this also applies for track three 'Lead Hearts'. 'In the Middle' grows with poppier attributes, but there is something about the vocals in combination with the music that does not quite sit right at first. Where the music tends to be more indie/pop orientated, there is a much deeper rock tone to the vocals, which really stands out. This element also tends to apply for 'Take It', the concluding track on the release. This differing in style takes some getting used to, but can be appreciated once it does.

'Never Far From What We Know ' is a record you will grow to enjoy and to top it all off, the band has several tour dates in the works for the upcoming months to promote this release.
