Single number two from The Quails
'Game of the Devil' is the second single to be taken from The Quails album "Master of Imperfection" and it is a remarkable song.
The four-piece fuse together aspects of indie, rock and pop to make a track that stands out for many reasons. Firstly, there is the distinctive vocal contribution from Dan Steer, who is also the bands keyboardist and one of two guitarists. His emotive and quite quirky voice is memorable as he belts out the tracks lyrics. Then there are the melodies that capture a listener's attention, the blending together of a rock foundation and a poppy chorus. This melodic fusion of sounds is yet another memorable aspect to this recent release.
The Quails create a confident and very enjoyable listen with this single and we hope to hear plenty more in the future. Expect to see the band performing at Glastonbury later in the year as well as plenty of other places on the festival circuit.
