Still providing a shock to the system
Senser haven't really been away, it only feels that way at times but in recent album 'How to do Battle' they have produced a real gem that has made the previously ambivalent music press (almost begrudgingly) admit that Senser still have something special to offer.
'2,3 Clear' is the fourth single from the album and for this release it's been given a remix that really cranks it up a level. You'd have to concede that it's familiar territory, all the Senser trademarks are here in force; thumping beats and cutting guitar combined with in your face vocal delivery from Heitham, with Kirsten contributing a typically soaring melody. It's not as instantly catchy as previous singles 'End of the World Show' or 'Resistance Now', it has a different feel, more of a pulsing and driven tune but no less effective in getting the masses moving in the live environment.
Familiar it might be but it's still completely kicking! Crank it up loud and I defy you not to start moving. The added production on the remix really does take it up a notch, it's bigger and fatter and makes the overall impression much like the fabled 'wall of sound'. Senser have proved that they are still a force to be reckoned with over the last couple of years and '2, 3 Clear' does nothing but reinforce the point. Available as a free download from the band's website from 11th April there's really no excuse for not checking it out.
