John Reilly – Building Avalon

Having been play listed in the USA and Canada, John Reilly has now hit the UK and BBC radio have been airing his single 'Building Avalon'. Liverpool born, Sheffield based Reilly had huge success on the other side of the pond in the 1990s as singer/songwriter with the band Boy On A Dolphin', he has recently completed an 18 month collaboration with Vancouver based pianist Lewis Nitikman.

Taken from the Reilly's forthcoming solo album 'Zebulon', 'Building Avalon' is a no-nonsense, no holds barred catchy tune. Unashamedly foot tapping, the song jumps straight in with a Northern Soul beat, complete with big brass and infectious rhythm. The chorus is memorable and the vocals are just edgy enough to bring the song into the 21st century. Big backing vocals add to the big production and change in tempo and volume serves as a very clever diversion before the song returns to it's soulful and brassy origins.

'Building Avalon' has all the attributes needed for extensive air play and because of this it should sell well and put John Reilly well into the spotlight.
