Underwhelming Stadium Rock

Having just come off support slots with the Killers, San Diego band Transfer might have a fair few new fans.

"Losing Composure" is their first studio foray into our hearts, minds and ears and it's fair to say it comes across as Brandon Flowers B-Team. The standards are present, it's quite uplifting and nice, vocals have the bass rolled off to within an inch of their lives and there's a slow bit in the middle, which harsher voices would be getting their plagiarism meter out for. On the whole though, It's altogether quite nice, inoffensively spreading their message.

But does it differentiate itself from the more famous band? Not really, you could be forgiven for thinking that this was laid down in a day as a B-Side to something off Sam's Town. There are some nice bits, being a positive anthem but it's all a bit... underwhelming, mainly because it's been done before. It's pop-rock without the cringe but instead of filling a Premiership ground, this is a bit second tier.

You can listen for yourself, they've made the song available as a free download until the 25th. There's definitely room for Transfer and a few magazines have touted them, but they need a unique selling point.
