Maroon 5-Must Get Out
For the fifth single from this phenomenally huge band, this is actually rather good. By this point in their careers', we are all self-admittedly fully expecting the roughest cut of album filler, a flimsy piss poor excuse for a slice of pop imminence. Slower than previous chart busters 'This Love' and 'Harder To Breathe', faster than 'She Will Be Loved', this is definitely worth a listen and will sufficiently satisfy the massive middle of the road market that no-one except yer mum wants to admit they are ever-so partial to.
As always, this exhibits this bands ability to play their instruments well, and makes a great example of Adam Levine's slice of mellow tranquillity that is his voice.
With a smooth good time beat (incidentally which could use more bass) and, as always, a well-paced melody running alongside slinky, well thought out lyrics, this is an ideal accompaniment to the coming summer months.
The accompanying acoustic version of 'This Love' is good, nothing amazing, but then why should it be? Obviously this track is more suited to the hard (as hard as a pop band can make them) guitars that gave the original the edge that made it hit you round the head and sit up and take notice.
But well-done lads, you've unpredictably given us another slice of pop perfection, and at your forthcoming V festival performance, we will thank you for it.
