Beau and The Arrows- Levy

Beau and The Arrows have gone and got their bang-on-trend-vintage shoes under the BBC 6Music table with their DIY sound of youth in the past, and they are quite likely to do it again with their latest single, 'Levy'. Their music encapsulates the fuzzy alt rock sound of a throwback era and marries it with some sweet, but not too twee, boy-girl vocals. In fact, you can't help but think of Kate Nash on the female side of things- but for many of us this is never going to be a bad thing.

There is a perfect contradiction in the form of a really chilled out energy running through the track, and it does inspire you to perhaps keep your eye out for things to come with the release of debut album 'Future Kicks'. Lyrically, the London quartet are making a statement about the students fees backlash we've seen affecting our young people of late with 'Levy'. If you can still sound this chipper after being run through that hideous mill then you know that this lot really are working towards being a force of positivity. Time for an arrow-based pun? This single is setting them very much on target. Zing!
