Master and the Mule - 6ixty 5ive

Leeds four piece Master and the Mule have already got their sights on being more than your average rock band. Having already toured with the likes of Oceansize, Master and the Mule are cut from a very similar cloth. Full of wonky time signatures and levels of technicality nuclear physicists would have a tough job pulling apart it's safe to say that Master and the Mule won't be getting covered much during next year's X Factor auditions.

The Master and the Mule's unique sound is firmly on display on debut single '6ixty 5ive'. The song sounds like the musical equivalent of giving a child with ADD a lego set, in that although it is only one song, it provides a musical landscape that rapidly shifts and evolves not content with staying put with one idea. The musical building blocks that come in the form of sludgy riffs and razor drums constantly build and fall with the various elements rapidly being switched around to create a progressive sonic experience.

'6ixty Five' is available for download now, and is taken from The Master and the Mule's debut album released early 2012.
