Smooth sailing for The Sea...
Powered by more coolness than The Proclaimers and more credibility than BROS, brothers Alex and Peter D'Chisholme take their band The Sea to New York in their latest single. With the track drifting along on a chilled-out breeze, the duo channel anthemic rock into the most laid-back of vibes to rather pleasing effect.
A rawer, yet still melodic indie vocal gives the track it's backbone in a very similar fashion to Tom Clarke's influence on The Enemy's instrumentals. Risk of repetitiveness in the strong, soaring cries of the song's namesake is deftly avoided through the delicately placed horn sections which add greater depth and build to the track as it softly glides along.
The Sea are clearly aiming to take on the music scene in a serious way. Big sounds and an eye for an anthem seem to be their battle plan, and there's no reason why it shouldn't work for them.
