Lacking Nothing

With the demise of Cry For Silence back in 2008, vocalist Adam Pettit found himself without a band but rather than throwing in the towel, the front man picked himself up, dusted himself off and went about getting himself a new band. Completed by Lawrence Welling (vocals), Dave Aitken (guitar), Will Camm (guitar), Nic Bucknall (drums) and Nick Wills (bass), Dead Town Nothing was formed and rose out of Cry For Silence's ashes and in the process, the Isle of Wight six piece have crafted some adrenaline pumping, slightly sinister tunes that pack a hefty punch. It's surprising then that the band's debut self titled EP starts out life quite sedate, almost gentle as the aptly titled Intro gets things under way, slowly introducing the band before the true brutality is unleashed courtesy of The Plot. Snarling, aggressive and pummelling past in a tsunami of heart pounding energy, The Plot brings the band's sound very much to the forefront, throwing in a hint of dark threat amongst riffs that roar and tear at your ear drums. Indeed Dead Town Nothing are very much about the raw fierceness and luckily it is something that screams throughout the EP as they prove that their hardcore punch is just as special as their melodic twist, shown in all its glory through the duel vocals on Torches.

Aggressive, passion packed and with a genuine rawness that only adds to the ferocity of the tracks, Dead Town Nothing may have started out life in another guise, but this is the name that will stay with people.
