Bear Driver - Enemy

Bear Driver's Enemy is the perfect summer-fuelled slacker pop song. Full of sun and succinct nostalgia with tight melodies and an upbeat feel, Enemy's lyrics provide a much needed backbone - 'you were always my enemy,' insists vocalist Rich Harwood.

The song is more accessible than some of their others, necessary for a single but a little disappointing - it lacks the arresting quality that Bear Driver songs usually embody. However, it still has that certain something that fish-hooks into the mind - listeners are likely to find themselves humming the cobwebby tune all day long. It's a lovely introduction into the band who are already gaining the sort of reputation usually reserved for much more well established acts.

While at times, the song does inspire feelings of 'have I heard this before?', it's still a nice slice of sun to stave off the rain and provide the soundtrack to lazy days spent in beer gardens. More, please!
