Follow up single to the critically acclaimed debut Ep
Holy Esque may not exactly be everyone's cup of tea but there's no denying that this is a band that certainly aren't lacking in originality. Now, It's not often that my first thought when listening to a song is that it sounds as though it's being played under water, it's even less often that a band can actually pull that off, but it seems Holy Esque have managed it with their latest single. Pumped full of atmosphere, Tear, is simply mesmerising, a track which from the very first note has you hooked and reaching for the replay button. However it's clear that it's the unusual vocals of Pat Hynes which truly make this track brilliant and give the band their unique edge. With comparisons to joy division and nirvana and being acclaimed as one of Scotland's most exciting new bands they certainly have some great expectations to live up to. Thankfully it looks like they're up to the challenge, if Tear is just the beginning then it seems as though Holy Esque really could become gods of their genre.
Tear is the follow up single to their debut self-titled EP and is available to download for free from the band's soundcloud.
