Tyler Mae - Versus White Knights
Tyler Mae is an up and coming quintet based in the West Midlands and has supported the likes of The Blackout, Breathe Carolina, King Blues and Enter Shikari over their years of touring. The last year on the road playing has been even more rewarding for their hard work and this single, Versus White Knights is proof they are ready to be set upon the world.
Although the band members have foundations rooted in punk music, for the style of music Tyler Mae now produce, there is a much more electronic sound with a dance feel. This three and a half minute tune kicks straight in with a rhythm and builds on this, really going full blown just over half way in. Although well placed together, a little more punk influence would have gone down a treat. The vocal contribution from Eva Lazarus alongside a male vocal makes the tune a little livelier along the way.
As a track on a CD or MP3, you can understand how effective this single could be in a club or car stereo, however as an up and coming quintet, it is intriguing how they would come to perform on stage as a live five piece band...
