The Blue Screen Of Death - Leave The Future Behind

The Blue Screen Of Death are well established in the Southampton area, but are hoping to make a name for themselves in the wider world with the release of Leave The Future Behind.

Opening track Let It Go kicks things off perfectly, it features strong twin rock guitar riffs and a big chorus that will have you singing along before the song is through. Second track Do It Right picks up exactly where Let It Go left off. More dual guitars and a catchy chorus; these two songs are the perfect way to get an album started.

The album stand out track has to be What Would Arnie Do? a tongue in cheek homage to Arnie's movies of yesteryear. If you're an Arnie fan you could play a little game of 'Guess The Movie' with this track, as some of the lyrics are actually quotes from his films. This track is audio proof that The Blue Screen Of Death do not take themselves too seriously.

Closing track Fatal Error is almost like an anthem for this band, they mention the screen of death a hundred times over, almost as if they do not want you to forget the band name. With that said, it is actually a catchy and likeable song.

Leave The Future Behind is a strong debut release, the band have obviously worked out what sound works for them as it is hard to distinguish between a couple of tracks as they have a similar structure, but that's my only complaint on this otherwise well performed and produced album.
