They Might Be Giants - Nanobots
Celebrating their thirty first year as a band; They Might Be Giants are back with their sixteenth studio album; Nanobots.
As always They Might Be Giants deliver a healthy dose of harmonies and absurdities. Nanobots is home to an impressive 25 songs, but as any TMBG listener knows; they have an incredible knack for writing short and concise songs. The short gap between songs helps to maintain the upbeat sounds that are heard throughout the album.
The album is packed with beautiful metaphors and eccentric lyrics, which play out over catchy hooks and impressive riffs. TMBG's quirky melodies get stuck in your head, and you will catch yourself humming the tune hours even days later.
Songs such as You're On Fire, Call Your Mom and Circular Karate Chop all have a classic They Might Be Giant feel, and you would be forgiven for thinking they'd been lifted from an earlier album.
They Might Be Giants are epic storytellers, and while their bizarre lyrics may be hard for some people to swallow, there are a whole lot of people in the world who are super excited to hear this album, and it doesn't disappoint.
Whether you have never heard the work of They Might Be Giants before or if you're a lifelong fan Nanobots has something for everyone and this catchy little album proves that this band is a boon to the music industry, as they have made consistently good music for over thirty years.
