Announcing The Arrival Of A Great New Band

When you get an EP or album from a band you have never heard of, it's always exciting when the first few notes are played and you decide you like them. The Printed Sound are new- very new- but their sound defies their tender months. Melodic, soaring but still with that roughed up edge that steers them into the lead of the Leeds music scene race, The Printed Sound are a refreshing change to the kind of band that passes noise off as music.

Lyrically, 'The Announcement' is the kind of bouncy, uplifting song that urges you to sing along. The mid paced stomp and purr of the bass guitar means it's highly addictive. In a way, it's the alternative to 'Take Me Out' for people who can't stand Franz but still want to listen to a catchy tune destined for radio. 'Lips' continues the sing-a-long trend, but the sound is dirtier and the filthy bass line haunts for minutes afterwards.

The Printed Sound offer a trendy alternative to the over-hyped pap that's being released at the moment and this latest CD from them shows that they're going to get bigger. Much bigger.
