The Younger - Have Hope
Essex quartet The Younger have been going from strength to strength this year, and the release of Have Hope is bound to add momentum to their ever growing success.
Opening track Big Escape is simple but perfect, upbeat and catchy, it will only take a couple of listens before you find yourself singing along with the chorus.
Frontman Daniel Lawrence's voice is instantly likeable and is the perfect accompaniment to the rhythmic drumming and guitar work. There is a great energy to Big Escape and Heartbeat which are bound to become fan favourites and get the crowd singing along at the band's live shows.
This Light takes a different tone to the opening two tracks, it is much slower and has a cold and lonely feel. It completely changes the mood of the album, which is a shame after such a promising start, but Eyes soon lifts the mood again.
Have Hope has a pleasant mix of sounds, and shows of the capabilities and talent of the band. The vocals and instrumentals are equally strong and The Younger sound like a cohesive unit.
The record is full of pop-rock sensibilities and has a wonderful feel good vibe. The Younger present enough of a pop edge that their music could quite easily be played on mainstream radio stations.
Here is hoping that The Younger will be around for a while and will be playing in a local venue soon. I'm sure it wont be long until they're selling at venues and have hoards of girls swooning over them.
