We Are The In Crowd - Weird Kids
New York pop-punk quintet We Are The In Crowd are set to thrill fans with their new album Weird Kids.
Weird Kids is a ten track offering that shows We Are The In Crowd's diversity and creativity, the band have found a happy balance between being playful and punchy, which makes Weird Kids a fun and enjoyable listen.
The Best Thing (That Never Happened) is a great number, which will no doubt become a bit of an anthem for females listeners, from the first listen you can tell that all the ladies in the crowd of We Are The In Crowd's live show will be singing along with that number at the top of their lungs, while getting caught up in the song's dance inducing vibe.
Manners is a an interesting track, it is the first track on the album that sees Taylor Jardine and Jordan Eckes sing back to back, the dual vocal tones really work and gives the song a rocky edge which seems to push Jardine to show off the true extent of her voice. Come Back Home once again sees Jardine and Eckes in musical discussion, this offering lets Eckes show off his voice a little more.
For the most part, Weird Kids is an upbeat and energetic number, but Windows In Heaven slows things down and sees the band exploring more serious issue, taking a more sombre turn. The song is beautifully compiled and is bound to touch the hearts of fans that have lost someone.
Overall, Weird Kids is a cracking album which is easy to listen to, upbeat and full of big sing along moments. It is great that We Are The In Crowd exploring new sounds while remaining to have a distinct awareness of what works for them, and they work it well.
