Inherit The Stars - Beyond The Beacons
Hard hitting rock quartet Inherit The Stars are set to release their sophomore EP; Beyond The Beacons.
The boys from Sheffield aren't holding back on this five track release; the songs are catchy and well performed. The opening track Still Alive has an interesting intro that does not set you up for what is to come on this EP.
Still Alive and the following track Flaw gently ease you in to the hard hitting music that Inherit The Stars go on to offer. The opening track is not overly desirable, but it shows frontman Daniel Jeffery to have an impressive set of pipes, sadly, the music itself is pretty weak.
Thankfully, it doesn't take long for Exit Plan and Better Than This to come blaring out of the speakers and showcase exactly what Inherit The Stars can offer. These are both solid tracks that are home to impressive performances from all involved.
Overall, Beyond The Beacons is a good little EP although it can seem a little schizophrenic at times. There is something on here to appeal to everyone, but Inherit The Stars may be better off focusing on one genre of music and honing their skills to produce a sound that really defines them as a unit.
