This Illusion - Not Just Listening
For a band that has only been together since 2003, This Illusion has a great sound. This single is the latest offering since the release of their debut EP on Casket Music. This Illusion have been described as being equal parts punk, metal and hardcore, and I have to say I agree with this statement, as that was this new single is, a perfect blend of all three music styles. 'Not Just Listening' is a great track, short but sweet, coming in at just over two and a half minutes long it is sharp and to the point. With the metal influence coming through in the guitar sound, punk in the vocals, and hardcore in the drumming, there really isn't much to fault. This track is such an assault on the ears, but in a good way, and before there's time to even contemplate losing interest, it is over. So that would be This Illusion - one point, your eardrums - zero.
