Scottish country rock n'roll
Hailing from Fife up in Scotland, 'Favourite Girl' is the first track to be released from the album 'KC Rules OK', which was released on the 5th September. For those of you not familiar with the sound of King Creosote, the best way I can think to describe them would be a more acoustic outfit, very laid back and not what you would expect to hear from a Scottish artist.
I had visions of sitting around a campfire whilst listening to this CD, probably due to the harmonicas in the background. 'Favourite Girl' has a very distinctive country rock 'n' roll feel to it, like a more upbeat Johnny Cash. A very thoughtful and reflective single, I would recommend this track after a hard day's work - it is perfect music to unwind to. The other tracks on this single follow in the same style, 'So Forlorn' is definitely worth checking out.
