A horrible let down

Forming in late 2000, Sinocence have since released 1 album, 3 EPs and 1 DVD, so they have been working like mad since they formed. Will their second full length album be a notable release in their career?

Opening with track 'Requiem' you notice one thing immediately, the music is alright, but they vocals are bloody dreadful, they sound like a heavier version of an emocore/screamo band but with gruffer vocals. 'Psycho' is a horrible rap-metal track, horrible indeed. 'Beneath The Hold' sounds like a dull nu-metal/grunge track in the style of Godsmack or Disturbed. To be quite honest, most of the tracks on this album are pretty bad, nothing is good here, and the best it gets is 'Alright' at the very, very most.

The production on this album isn't too great either; the drums are thin and the guitars sound weak and widdly when they are not even meant to be and the vocals, enough said. The bass is not too shabby but doesn't stand out all that much.

What else is left to say about this shambles of an album, really? Sinocence may give off the feeling that they're a metal band but when you listen to them, they are nothing more than a heavy nu-metal band, sounding like Godsmack but even worse (which must be pretty hard).

Don't be fooled by their 'metal' image and name, buy this if you are a fan of nu-metal in general or want a heavy version of an emo/screamo band, but otherwise, leave this band well alone, it seems that the band have watered down their sound since the previous releases and seem to be going for commercial success.Commercial success they will not get; comments about them being Godsmack rip offs they certainly will!
