While listening to this album I was looking on amazon.co.uk to see what other records fans had bought besides this group. So their fans like Yellowcard, Simple Plan, Fall Out Boy, some pretty tough acts to be compared against. When I first listened to it, I just could not get it though, it sounded more Busted or McFly, than anything really serious. But this album it grows on you, it gets under your skin like a nasty rash and just grows.
Saying that there are no terrific guitar riffs, or drum solos, no heavy beats, just a good rock and roll sound that most ears could quite easily appreciate. The sound is very much American rock, that is probably the best way to describe it, the kind of music you could hear in the background on the OC as it will not offend anyone.
There are some great little tracks on the album such as 'Dirty Little Secret', which is quite a catchy tune, 'Change Your Mind' this is quite a powerful song, with a guitar solo. Tracks such as 'Top Of The World', 'Straightjacket Feeling' and 'I'm Waiting' are fair enough tracks.
This is the sort of album it is hard to be nasty about as there are a few good tracks on it. But at the same time it not the sort of album that inspires you either, it certainly wouldn’t make me want to go to HMV to buy it. 'Move Along' is ok, but that is about it, nothing really exciting just another slice of Americana rock.
