Nitrokiss

I happened to be in Finland a couple of weeks ago and whilst I was there I believe I may have stumbled across the next big thing. Already a major hit with the ladies in their local town of Tampere, Nitrokiss are a five piece rock outfit that formed back in December of 2003.

I had no idea who this band was when they came on stage, but by the end of their performance I was completely blown away. Musically these guys are reminiscent of trashy 80s rock not far off from the likes of Motley Crue and friends.

Their EP is available through the band's website and consists of four tracks. The first track is possibly the most addictive; I can foresee Him comparisons emerging here. This is most likely to be because of the incredible similarity vocalist Durden has to Valo which can be heard particularly on this track. I believe this is where the likeness ends though, because Nitrokiss are emphatically not a lame imitation-Him band as seen with the likes of the atrocious Rasmus. They are musically proficient and talented enough to stand on their own, and could give Valo & Co. a run for their money in my opinion. The following tracks are equally as good, and have left me extremely eager to hear their album which is due for release next spring. 'Head Against The Curb' and 'It Burns' are great pieces of rock music also anthemic in sound. Once you hear the music of Nitrokiss, it will be in your head for days.
