Sounds like an egg screaming apparently!

Multi Purpose Chemical hail from Liverpool, they have recently been crowned 'Liverpool's most entertaining live band' and to top that off, they have recently supported well established acts such as Reuben, Million Dead and The Map Capsule Markets. Many followers of the band expect that it won't be long until they become regarded as being one of the nations best upcoming acts, time to see what all the fuss is about!

'Cult' starts off with a track conveniently titled, err...'Cult', a very eccentric, bouncy metal track, it sounds like a bizarre mix of System Of A Down and Sikth with a hint of Dillinger Escape Plan added in for good measure. A fabulous opening track!

'Death for Sale' is a darker track than the latter, but still incredibly catchy. The track seems to get more brutal as the song progresses -good, head banging fun!

'Embrace' is a rap-metal track, sounding not dissimilar to Otep, One Minute Silence, Razorwire and at times, Korn (shudder) to name a few.

The last track entitled 'Hate Magnet' has a 'Jump-da-fuck-up' feel to it; it probably wouldn't sound out of place on a Soulfly or Rage Against The Machine album, a great closing track to a very good band.

The production however brings this review down. It sounds way too fuzzy and the drums are terrible in the sense you cannot hear the fills or beats too well and the vocals seem somewhat unrefined. Overall, not a bad debut from Liverpool's alternative metallers but the production is, to be quite frank, bloody awful, this is an EP, not a demo!
