Tex-Mex Country Rock
Being the sister of Robert Rodriguez, it wouldn't surprise many that Patricia Vonne (Rodriguez) is a talented actress and film scorer in her own right. You'd think that was enough wouldn't you? Nope. An album already under her belt, 'Texas Burning'is the single from her second album 'Guitars and Castanets'. It's country, indeed, But not just any old country.
She sounds like a cross between Chrissy Hind and Christine Mcvie and as you'd expect with her being of Mexican extraction, she adds bite and spice to the proceedings. There's an element of latter day Brian Adams snaking through the whole thing.
It conjures up images of the Wild West. A Gringo, his horse and a bottle of tequila. Whilst not exactly my cup of tea, I can certainly see the appeal. She'd probably spit on Shania Twain (how we'd all cheer) and drink all the men in the town under the table before galloping off on her jet-black steed in a Zorroesque fashion.
