An evolution of Korn, an evolution of 'Heavy'!
It has been surprising how resilient and persistent the band Korn are, having lost a member of the band due to "spiritual enlightenment" and a seemingly downhill slide after 'Untouchables' in the quality of their music, you might have thought they'd have given up by now, but not so. That is the beautiful and intriguing thing about Korn, they love to come out on top of change and constantly add a twist of something unusual to their music. With a long line of albums, none of which sound the same, Korn switch their image within metal as often as Madonna changes her image altogether and it is this unpredictable edge that has gotten them through the past few years along with fans as dedicated as ever.
Now Korn are set to evolve again in a completely new and groundbreaking way with their new single 'Twisted Transistor', the first track released from their much-anticipated new album 'See You On The Other Side' set for release on the 5th of December. It claims to be the most revolutionary and inventive album since their debut and from the sheer brash and barbed sound of 'Twisted Transistor', it is going to be one hell of a blinding album that is set to stun! 'Twisted Transistor' itself is a real blast of blinding musical fury, dark and twisted lyrical humour and real sociopathic tendencies – basically it's everything we love about Korn but blended into something infinitely more evolved and fresher. There's a real hybrid funk twist to the heavy riffs of seven string guitars and their classic distorted and dirty sound so typical of Korn that can't fail to make you get up and dance. It's everything that Korn have musically come to represent over the years morphed with an industrial-strength alter ego that has been suppressed throughout the last few albums, but now it has been unleashed and has become more than an evolution of Korn but of 'heavy' sound in general!
Continuing to redefine the boundaries of heavy metal with unsettling guitar textures and volcanic rhythms that erupt with jagged and violent appeal and introspective and intense vocal styling, Korn have most certainly made a giant comeback from their recent musical rut and have leapt back with a twist of industrial funk in their step while still bringing the quality of older albums straight back through with a force so strong it will knock your socks off! 'Twisted Transistor' is a funky little number destined to be big news among the alternative community and is a step in the right direction for 'See You On The Other Side', a barb-wired explosion of a track!
