Welsh Gangsters
So you thought New York gangsters came from Ireland and Italy? Well your wrong. Then Came Bronson are four gangsters from the broad walks of Wales and here to shoot you up with their new single. The band are so determined to get this traditional gangster image across that they've forgotten to put the track listing on the CD cover or the press kit!
With such a strange image it's hard to understand what kind of the genre you can classify this band as. Tough old school NY hardcore perhaps? Maybe even some Irish music to jig to? Don't have your hopes too high because as soon as you put the CD on your ears are presented with the typical post-punk treatment ala Cadillac Blindside or perhaps even Yellowcard.
There's no doubt listening to the single that the band knows how to pen a good pop/rock/punk (whatever you want to call it) song. Some heavy riffage and nice rhythm only compliments the band and is in no-way overdone. Dare I even say the band are like an under-rated My Chemical Romance? Either way this song has the hooks and texture to have any pop-punk fan on their knees.
The B-side track to this single is a little ugly, despite it being a good representation of the band's energy live. When the out of tune backing vocals enter towards the end of the track, things fall apart. It's best to leave the B-side alone and just focus on the main song.
