Swedish Metalcore
Swedish quintet Trendkill have arrived with their debut album entitled 'No Longer Buried'.
While there is little about this debut that smacks of innovation or originality, Trendkill seem to have one or two tricks up their sleeves sure to attract the average fan of bands like Slayer, Lamb Of God and more.
From the opening track 'Join Us Now' to the closing track 'Nothing For Granted', 'No Longer Buried' simply reeks of rage and hate, particular influences that are strong here appears to be Pantera, Lamb Of God, Machine Head, Slayer and occasionally, Meshuggah.
There are some strong tracks on this record, nothing outstanding or original like the writer mentioned earlier on in the review, but this will no displease your average fan of general American metal acts. The lead-heavy production, technical ability and rage on this record gives this album a boost needs to raise itself above most average, modern metalcore acts. A pleasing debut.
