Dark and Vitriolic

A powerful and passionate wave of vitriolic edgy rock pours out of 'Roses For The Dead', the final release from the Funeral For A Friend's 'Hours' album. Careening nu-metal vocals rise angrily above the rest of the mix while drums crash ten to the dozen before slipping into the jerky, melodic rhythm. The characteristic Funeral For A Friend rippling guitars lead the tune into the realms of driving rock with the burning vocals cutting deep into your memory; this is increased even further by the knowledge that the song was singer Matt Davies way of coping with the loss of a loved one. An intense tribute to anyone, 'Roses For The Dead' has a rich, anthemic sound that will be hard to keep off the radio.

There are no striking new concepts introduced in this tune, but it's a fitting end to the series of 'Hours' singles that reminds us what powerful music Funeral For A Friend can make.
