Not A Monster, But Damn Catchy

The Automatic definitely produced one of the hits of 2006, with 'Monster's ubiquitous lyrics moulded into a thousand humorous slogans; it's success looked like it could be a thorn in the band's side, but 'Raoul' is an edgy slice of indie pop with plenty of bite. Hyperactive guitars and a tense chorus with a mixture of vocal harmonies and manic squealing (courtesy of the e-number fuelled keyboardist no doubt!) save the band from numerous one-hit wonder TV specials.

It might not set the world alight, but 'Raoul' is as good a song as any other to get a party started with its rocking riffs.
