Apogee – Lost Heaven

They say you can tell a lot about a band/person from their myspace profile. Ok, well maybe they don't say it, but I do. An individual's entire personality can be judged in seconds depending on what music they have playing, the type of photos displayed, the background and the most revealing information would be their list of friends and the comments left. This is exactly why I don't have one. I do understand that a lot of bands do, especially if they are trying to get recognised, as it is an excellent source of self promotion and did wonders for the likes of the Artic Monkeys.

Apogee do have a myspace profile and unfortunately their friends list seems to consist mostly of those shot-in-the-dark, suck my cheeks in and stare sideways with my fringe hanging over my face type 16 year old girls. Since Apogee were formed as a school band it seems fitting that only school girls would listen to them, as they don't appeared to have progressed particularly well musically within the last five years playing out the same old tired contrived American sounding whining rock that seems to plague my ears every time I leave the house. According to the band they sound like Alice in Chains or Tool, well I have heard the new Tool album and it ain't nothing like this.

However if you happen to be a 16 year old My Chemical Romance fan, you will probably love Apogee.
