THE BRIGHT SPACE SHE GOES
This is the second single released by London lads The Bright Space on the Disco impact label. The first received praise and plaudits from the likes of Zane Lowe and Steve Lamacq, but then a lot of bands do. An awful lot of bands.
It's got a pleasant enough sound quite catchy in its way.
The 'A' track actually starts off very dodgy. The weedy vocals don't do anything for it. It soon plunges into a cross between Echo and The Bunnymen and the stone Roses with a bit of U2 chucked in for good measure. It's very samey all the way through and a bit dull really; the vocals carry as much weight as a wasp's wing on a windy day.
The 'B' track is my opinion the better track. 'Suffocated By Sound' is catchier with its chunky chunka bass line it sounds more akin to Grandaddy.
All in all, it's not devastating, but try going a day without singing the chorus of the 'B' track. Can't be done.
