Mainstream beckons for electro pin-up Tiga

Don't be fooled into thinking that Tiga is next in the line of electro pushers that have jumped on board after the breakthrough of Mylo, this Canandian artist has been wowing people for years, with 'Sunglasses At Night' still capable of working any dancefloor into a frenzy......of studied cool. New single 'Far From Home' will no doubt be disgusting to the purists given that its been receiving heavy radio airplay but its an outstanding track from the very fine album 'Sexor.'

With a brief squelchy intro, Tiga's languid vocals ease into life and for what they lack in volume or pace, the melody and pacing quality are very assured and confident. Appearing as the first proper song on the 'Sexor' album, the track fits the bill perfectly as a scene setter as it builds the pace and tempo rather than going for a full-on assault. Therefore, if the music is catching your ear but possibly leaves you thinking it should be harder or faster to be a quality dance track, there are more delights to be found on the album.

Lyrically, the song catches the mood of a man who is relaxed and comfortable in his surroundings and remaining positive, the music suits this perfectly as the track, in its single edit, won't be the most exciting song of the evening but its well placed to be a cross-over hit for Tiga and could well pave the way for him to becoming a mainstream artist.

With the obligatory remixes doing the job to keep the hairdressers and P.A's that frequent the oh so trendy electro clubs very happy, there is a lot of scope for Tiga to make a large mainstream breakthrough this summer.

Depending on how far the television producers deem Germany to be from Britain, 'Far From Home' could be a perfect lyrical accompaniment to the build up to the World Cup, although its jauntiness and comfort with the world will sadly be too upbeat to be used when England inevitably self-destruct again.
