Editors clearly decided to thieve other bands' songs for this one
There's a certain sound that joins bands like Editors, the Bravery, Maximo Park et al together, and electroclash meets indie is what you get. These guys are all about fashion and it says it all when the band features on an ad for hair products. It has to be said that 'Blood' certainly holds the attention, and it would be great on the dancefloor, but it lacks warmth or any real substance. Not only that, but the chorus sounds just like the Bravery's 'An Honest Mistake' and that gets really distracting.
Ultimately, it's debatable whether Editors will be remembered and on this evidence, they don't deserve to be. Listen to 'Blood' a few times, and it quickly becomes irritating - it's a bad sign that this sounds like another band, even if it's catchy. This is one band that seems to have fallen by the wayside and won't be missed.
