Billy Talent come up with a devil of a good tune
Make no mistake, 'Devil in a Midnight Mass' is a damn good tune, nasty and edgy by turns it's got hit written all over it. The screaming start hits you like a steam train and the chorus is surely made for the mosh pit - clearly so, given that the band went down a treat at Give It a Name 06. Crunchy guitars and spite-filled vocals attempt to break down your door, and wrestle you into submission and it really works.
With singer Ben Kowalewicz's distinctive voice giving this song that certain something, this single should be highly popular. Given how they caused a storm when their first album came out, it's amazing to think that Billy Talent have been around for 13 years; if this is what the rest of the second album is going to sound like, 'Billy Talent II' should blow everyone well away.
