An unfortunate band name sums up the whole Drips listening experience as rather wet and best avoided
It's impossible to listen to '16, 16, Six' without thinking that they're a rip-off of the Strokes - well, them and Green Day. It seems that these guys have pilfered the riff from 'Basket Case' and are masquerading it as their own. It's not that the song is bad, and the lyrics have their moments, 'I gotta tell you that I miss your voice/Cos everything else I hear is a violent noise'.
The first few listens are alright but it's easy to imagine they're holed up somewhere in Hackney and hang around Hoxton a fair bit - their sound belongs to that scene. With this effort, and lack of originality, it doesn't seem checking the rest of their stuff out; but after all, what else would you expect from a band that called themselves 'A band made up of extremely talented magicians' on their Myspace site? Quite.
