Sinking Ships - Disconnecting

Seattle's Sinking Ships debut album "Disconnecting" is takes a look at the trials and tribulations of everyday life.

"Disconnecting" picks up exactly where last year's release "Meridian" left off. The twelve songs on this album are fuelled by furious drumming, driving guitar riffs. The lyrics are heartfelt and full of sentiment. You can hear that the band are influence by melodic hardcore, this is obvious on 'Ghost Story', Sinking Ships have build on that style and added more diversity and created an edgier more progressive style.

Songs like 'Shadows' tread on the fine line between melodic hardcore and the world beyond, it's full of epic like guitar notes and the song arrangement is brilliant. Obviously they feel that it works for them as the same style is revisited later on the two closing tracks 'Comfort' and 'Wait' which are the strongest two songs on the album, so "Disconnecting" definitely finishes on a high.

This album has everything rampant mosh parts, traces of melody, rapid-fire shouting and vicious breakdowns. If you are a fan of hardcore then this is definitely one to look out for.
