The Motorettes/Kubichek! - Split EP
This split EP shows the work of two of the most highly tipped bands of 2006 bands, The Motorettes and Kubichek!
The Motorettes kick things off with the happy and upbeat 'Relax It's The 80s'. The vocals on this track sound very similar to The Killers Brandon Flowers. Their second track is 'Shutter' is actually a cover of a Kubichek! Song. Nevertheless it's a good punky little number with plenty of crashing drums and handclaps.
Third track 'Opening Shot' sees Kubichek! Take the rein with a post-punk offering. Closing track 'We Are Solution' is a Motorettes cover. Kubichek!'s version still follows the post-punk theme and there is a very noticeably Futurheads influence.
The North East seems to be buzzing with new talent at the moment and these two bands are no exception.
