Great Tweeny Bop Rock

Rooster, Busted, McFly, all essentially boy bands with guitars and this debut single from newcomers 3milehigh seems to fit that crowd perfectly. 'Always Watching' from the instant the guitars kick off is nothing more than weak boy band rock which is desperate to pretend that it is something harder than it is. They manage to crank it up a notch halfway through when the guitars get slightly more intense, and which actually inspire something other than a half arsed shrug and there is something slightly Foo Fightersesque about the sound at this point but they never veer too close to the harder and rockier edge which this song is begging for.

It is great tweeny bop rock, something that will definitely get them radio play but it definitely won't win them much credibility. Keep an eye out instead for 'Plastic Superstar' which has far catchier hooks and is more powerful but it is still vaguely reminiscent of Rooster, but saying that, as long as its got guitars it's got to be somewhere on the right path right?
