Pixies meet The Beach Boys.

Waxplanet deal in quite fun and catchy little power-pop tunes; they have a sound that's reminiscent of loads of recent British bands but mushed together and turned into something else altogether, so luckily they make a distinctive noise of their own. Their tunes are like early 1990s indie but with a jangly tambourine, Beach Boys infused 60s vibe.

The title track of the 'Turn Me Up' EP is an instantly likeable and catchy power-pop anthem, with a beat you can dance to and a chorus that invades your head and just will not leave. 'Look Listen & Go' and 'Streets on Fire' are both hook laden indie with vocal harmonies and sound strangely like Pixies (especially the Black Francis-alike vocal style) meets The Beach Boys, but it all has a really British feel. They should do well with this EP, the tunes are well rounded and interesting but they also have that poppy radio friendly mainstream appeal, so they should get plenty of airplay.
